Gap and Flush Inspection

Gap and Flush Measuring System

Gap and Flush Inspection is one of the core areas of Metrology and Automotive Industry. It is a widely needed unit of measurement from aerospace to automotive, applicable to millions of components and products for quality control.

With the help of the measuring instrument for the measurement of the third dimension, GapGun can quickly and accurately determine the measurement of space and length between two surfaces in just a few seconds. In addition to the speed of  gap measurement tools, the GapGun is fully portable and non-contact, making it an ideal solution for online inspection of the production line, whether mounted by hand or with a robot.

The groundbreaking, state-of-the-art GapGun Edge Break + system ensures accurate chamfering and spoke inspection on the work floor. GapGun PRO represents something simpler, but also the most technologically advanced and reliable, as a result of a development that has been achieved during years of daily use and the process control phases.

Gap and Flush Inspection analyzes can be performed on vehicles to check that doors, covers, cover plates and lift doors are not properly aligned. It can also be used to control excessive wind noise and detect water leaks.

Inspection of gaps between doors and mounted vehicle bodies is a decisive factor in modeling the aerodynamic performance of a car and in turn determines its energy efficiency. The portable laser scanner is an effective solution because, for example, it scans the entire spine between the bonnet and the front fender. Visual inspection reports with color coding illustrate graphically how colors and holes move along the spinal column. The Cross-Scanner is the most suitable sensor for inspecting openings and openings of motor vehicles. Because multiple lasers scan simultaneously, there is no reorientation of the probe to measure this complex and crucial geometry. Only one scan path can be defined to keep track of the 3D curvature of the room, and the cross scanner automatically collects the data.
